Simple Modern and the OKC Thunder partner to donate supplies to Whiz Kids
Simple Modern recently partnered with the OKC Thunder to provide several donations to three area Whiz Kids chapters, to supplement needed supplies to the students and mentors from each of their wish lists as well as water bottles for every child and volunteer in the program.
Whiz Kids works to reduce the opportunity gap for students through one-on-one tutoring and mentoring. The nonprofit, which has served students for the past 28 years, focuses on serving the whole child: academically, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
Three elementaries and their partners received donations based on the individual needs outlined by the organization. The Thunder brought Rumble and several Thunder Girls also participated to help cheer on the kids as they received their donated supplies and new water bottles.
Simple Modern and the Thunder donated the following items to each school’s Whiz Kid chapter:
Hawthorne Elementary, held at Crestwood Vineyard, received a portable white board with markers and Lakeshore Learning Literacy learning games.
Del City Elementary, held at Del City Church received a dedicated laptop and desktop printer with Wi-Fi print connectivity and toys and items for their Prize Box for reading rewards.
Crutcho Elementary, held at Meadowood Baptist Church received a desktop printer with Wi-Fi Print Connectivity and toys and items for their Prize Box for reading rewards.
In addition to joint philanthropic endeavors, Simple Modern is proud to partner with the OKC Thunder as the organization’s official drinkware sponsor.
