Sturdy and super well made! My daughter loves this!
My son loves the backpack because it has minions. I love the backpack because of the pockets. It has a small pocket on the upper front, where I placed a sharpener and an eraser. This is a very small pocket for things like change(coins) or hair ties. In the lower front pocket, I placed 3 tissue packets, 2-3 pencils and a pack of boogie wipes. I believe that more small items could fit here as well, but that's the max items needed in my case. The main compartment is pretty good and can hold a lot for the lower grades, probably kindergarten to second grade. If you need to send a blanket for nap time, I am not sure it will fit depending upon the size and thickness of the blanket. In my case, my child has diabetes, so in this pocket goes: his homework folder, 2 different diabetes blood sugar meters, a quart sized ziploc baggie with an extra snack and a set of kids headphones. As for the construction of the bag, I feel it is solid, not flimsy like so many other character backpacks. He has used the backpack since the start of school, so it has only been a month and a half but the bag still looks really good and there are no rips anywhere.
